ENF and Standard Chartered Launch Finance Management Workshop Series
15 March 2015, Amman – Standard Chartered Regional Manager Mr. Ahmad Abu Eideh, and Elia Nuqul Foundation (ENF) Chairman of the Board Mr. Ghassan Nuqul, have signed a cooperation agreement, whereby the Bank will organize workshops on financial management and banking for ENF scholars to help them manage their financial affairs. Additionally it aims to teach them prioritizing expenses in accordance with their income, along with managing project financials, thus enabling them to manage and develop the financials of their future projects.
Through its employees and volunteers, Standard Chartered Bank will deliver a number of courses and workshops to advance the abilities of students and their families, as well as help them with developing their future projects. The workshops target youth, ages 18-22 years, preparing them to enter the job market.
Regional Director of Standard Chartered Bank, Mr. Ahmed Abu Eideh, said: "the Bank's financial and banking programs mainly target two groups: youth, and small and medium enterprises, as the Bank believes that these groups have the potential to drive economic growth." He added, “stemming from the bank’s belief in broadening the horizons of younger generations, and preparing them for the job market, the Banking Studies Program targets individuals aged 12 and older. As for small and medium enterprises group, they play an integral role in economic and social development, and they create new job opportunities and contribute to Gross Domestic Product, and by extension enhance economic and social stability.”
On this occasion, Mr. Ghassan Nuqul stressed that ENF is always seeking to develop the life and practical skills of its scholars, in addition to providing them with scholarships in universities, community colleges, and vocational training centers.
Through these relentless efforts, ENF hopes to achieve the ultimate goal of graduating talented and creative individuals capable of driving themselves, their families, and their communities towards a better life.
