July, 2016

Zain and Elia Nuqul Foundation (ENF) have organized an event under ENF’s program “Hiwaruna” at the Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC), which featured workshops and panel discussions highlighting the success stories and experiences of creative and innovative youth. Attending the event was Mr. Ghassan Nuqul, Chairman of the Board of ENF, Yousef Abu Mutawa, Chief Operations Officer of Zain, and a number of university students as well as Zain and ENF management team.

Mohannad Odeh, Director of Marketing and Business Development at Zain, welcomed guests at ZINC and explained the role that this platform and the company play in contributing to the development of the skills of youth. In addition to preparing them enter the labor market, the company is determined to support the entrepreneurial spirit in young individuals to help them turn their ideas into viable projects.

Mr. Ghassan Nuqul delivered a lively welcoming speech wherein he shared with the audience the story of his father, Elia Nuqul, and the challenges he faced in his life and how he overcame them. In his speech, Mr. Nuqul also gave the audience some entrepreneurial advice, in addition to tips on personal and professional development, and how to learn from the experiences of others.

The event saw several workshops and panel discussions take place, presented by a number of small-enterprise ZINC entrepreneurs, Zain and ENF employees, and members of the Local Organizing Committee of the U-17 Women’s World Cup. One of the workshops was delivered by “Zain Al Shabab” program members, which focused on developing the professional and personal skills of youth in an attempt to prepare them for the labor market. The workshop encouraged participants to cultivate a sense of entrepreneurship early on, especially during their university years, as well as enhancing their role in the community through activities, courses and field work.
