What helped me on the road to success was this urge, which is omnipresent deep inside me, in my brain, in my body and has accompanied me throughout my career.

Community Service Program and Social Entrepreneurship Program

Community Service Program

Good citizenship and social solidarity are key developmental concepts that ENF seeks to ingrain in youth with the aim of inspiring hope, encouraging their love for volunteer work, and broadening their horizons - all for the sake of empowering them to improve, develop and add value to their society. To this end, ENF engages its scholars in carefully-chosen community service initiatives that are near and dear to their hearts. This Community Service Program also places great importance on establishing rewarding and sustainable partnerships with relevant organizations.

ENF believes in the importance of involving youth in community service due to its positive effect on their morale and sense of self-worth, allowing youth to become productive individuals who can constructively impact their environment. Moreover, volunteering teaches them to overcome various life difficulties and social challenges by developing their planning, problem solving and teamwork skills. Equally important, it cements positive behaviors and enhances youth’s sense of belonging and self-confidence, giving them a better today and a promising future on both the personal and professional fronts.

Social Entrepreneurship Program

Globally, social entrepreneurship is becoming an increasingly recognized sector that addresses societal needs through innovative community-based solutions. In Jordan however, the concept is in its early stages, and needs to be institutionalized to provide sound, up-to-date resources outlining best practices and enhancing innovation rather than re-inventing the wheel.

The definition of a social entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to create, organize and manage a venture to effect social change. Because ENF recognizes the importance of encouraging youth to think socially, the Elia Nuqul Foundation serves as an advocate in promoting the growth of a sound social entrepreneurship sector in Jordan.

As advocates for social entrepreneurship, ENF will continue to encourage stakeholders in developing a thriving social entrepreneurship sector, while channeling opportunities to ENF scholars who are interested in transitioning from university life to becoming social entrepreneurs within their designated communities.
